The Arab community in Britain received the first message from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak regarding the Israeli war on Gaza and his government’s position on it, in light of London’s refusal to call for a comprehensive ceasefire despite the massacres committed by the occupation in the Strip.
Sunak's message was received by the First Conference of the Arab Community, which includes representatives from various sectors of the Arab community in Britain, in response to the letter that the conference addressed to him at the beginning of November, in which he asked him to take immediate action to stop the Israeli massacres, and not to be involved in supporting the war crimes and genocide it is committing. Israel in the Strip.
Sunak said in his message to the conference - which was delivered by the British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs, Lord Tariq Ahmed - that "Britain supports Israel's right to defend itself, but in line with international humanitarian law."
The letter also stated that Sunak's government called on Israel to allow aid into Gaza, work with the United Nations and the Red Cross to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip, and put an end to settler violence in the West Bank.
